If you have been to Ski La Parva before you probably know that their current terrain park is not exactly on par with some of the international freestyle destinations such as Park City, Utah or Tignes, France but it looks like that may change.
Earlier this month Ski La Parva began work on a major new project. They brought out the big machines to start moving dirt so they can prepare for a new snowpark. They will be building this new park in the area known as Tórtolas and have also added new snowmaking equipment along with a new PistonBully PB600 snowcat which will help keep the new terrain park operating efficiently regardless of natural snowfall. The new layout will provide a variety of features for all skill levels, from those just learning to advanced skiers and riders training at a highly competitive level.
This is exciting news as skiing and snowboarding continues to grow by participation in South America it’s always good to see the local resorts help support the sport. In 2011 La Parva first announced it was going to build an International Freestyle Training Facility and this is the first we have seen of it, so hopefully we will see the rest of the plan come to fruition soon.
