Skiing The Andes Mountains of South America is simply awe inspiring. 

As the Earth's longest mountain range and second highest outside the Himalayas, you have to experience the Andes first hand to grasp it's size.
The Andes range creates a natural border between Chile and Argentina loaded with snow covered peaks, glaciers, and smoking mystical volcanoes.  The Argentine and Chilean Andes host endless backcountry ski terrain and some fantastic ski resorts. 

The Andean snow quality is often compared to a mix of coastal snow packs similar to Whistler, BC, with dry "cold smoke" powder found in Colorado and Utah. 

July to mid September is the best bet to ride powder in the Andes.  Ski season runs from mid June to mid October with backcountry ski touring options pushing well into November, especially on the Chilean Volcanoes and southern Patagonia with fantastic spring and corn snow cycles.

Chile and Argentina are home to close to 30 ski resorts with altitudes reaching up to 3,700 meters (12,140 feet).

While some ski resorts have multi-million dollar infrastructures, others are rustic, taking you back in time to the simple pleasures of freeriding with family run ski resort atmospheres, all but gone in most of the world.

British Columbia, Canada hosts numerous mountain ranges including the beautiful Selkirk, Monashee, and Purcell Mountains. 

The skiing and snowboarding here is hands down some of the best in the world.  As a bonus, dealing with altitude is generally not an issue as the mountains of BC generally have us skiing between 610 to 2,135 meters (2,000 to 7,000 feet) above sea level.

Snow Quality in British Columbia is fantastic. 

Known for deep dry snow, BC's abundant snowfalls blanket endless back country terrain and bless the ski resorts and cat skiing operations with ski seasons extending into late April.
