The “3 Volcanoes” 10-day ski tour takes us deeper into the southern Andes. Our goal: bag three of Southern Chile’s most beautiful volcanos via alpine ski touring. The volcanos, Villarica, Lonquimay, and Chillan soar thousands of meters above the fertile lands and national reserves of Chile’s stunning 8th and 9th regions.
 
The three descents alone offer over 20,000 vertical feet of classic volcanic skiing, and we will explore thousands more in the days between.

Backcountry Touring Focus:  For to the advanced and expert skier and rider looking to earn his turns and venture into the spectacular world of volcanic ski touring using alpine touring gear.  Plus expansive off-piste freeriding around the local ski resorts and beyond.

Required Equipment
Rentals available
» 35 Liter Backpack with harness straps for carrying skis or board
» 457 Khz avalanche transceiver
» Avalanche snow shovel
» Avalanche probe
» Boot Crampons
» Ice Axe

Skiers: skis with 80-95mm waist with either Telemark or Alpine Touring binding system, skins, ski crampons
Snowboarders: splitboard, skins, crampons, and collapsible trekking/ski poles.  NO SNOWSHOES.

Starts: Temuco, Chile
Ends: Santiago, Chile

Day 1: Fly into Temuco, meet your PowderQuest guides, short drive to Pucon, hotel check-in, group and trip intro, dinner.

Day 2-3: Breakfast, attempt to climb and ski Villarrica Volcano, Dinner on the town, hot springs and other activities such as rafting, mountain biking, horseback riding and more! Cook out at Mapuche Indian Farm.

Day 4: Breakfast, travel to Malalcahuello, maybe afternoon short ski tour on the volcano. Overnight in hotel with dinner.

Day 5-6: Breakfast, full days touring and skiing on Volcano Llonquimay, hotsprings, dinner.

Day 7: Breakfast, drive to Las Trancas, hotel check in, prep for tomorrows ski touring at Nevados de Chillan, dinner.
 
Day 8-9: Breakfast, 2 full days of alpine touring around the beautiful terrain of Volcano Chillan and Los Nevados, dinner.

Day 10: Breakfast, travel to Santiago, hotel or airport drop off.  Adios Amigos!
