The Llaima Volcano in Chile (3,125m), home to Las Araucarias ski center, has one of the most classic ski descents of the region and has several options for the ascent.
The ski resort of Las Araucarias is in the heart of Conguillio National Park, long recognized by Chileans as one of the most spectacular, diverse and representative parks in the south.
The Conguillo park protects over 60,000 hectares of rapidly evolving volcanic terrain, alpine lakes and ancient southern beech and Araucaria forests (monkey puzzle trees) – ingredients for a majestic and almost unreal landscape.
