This 8-day Patagonia ski touring (ski mountaineering) adventure includes nights at rustic yet cozy backcountry ski huts.
Great meals topped off with a stunning Argentine vino tinto (red wine). We finish our ski adventure in Bariloche at some of the best nightlife and restaurants in South America.

Quick Tour Itinerary
|
Important, except for day 2, this trip is not ski lift assisted. Our home bases are remote mountain huts tucked deep in the snow-drenched Andes with incredible backcountry alpine hut to hut skiing touring access using alpine ski touring equipment. (Splitboards or randonee skis required).
You do not need to be an expert backcountry skier, but a strong fitness level is important. You will be skiing with a 40 lt backpack, and some days have quite a bit of travel and elevation gain. For splitboarders, previous touring experience IS REQUIRED.
Starts: Bariloche, Argentina
Ends: Bariloche
Day 1: Fly into Bariloche, Argentina, meet your PowderQuest backcountry ski guides, hotel check-in, group and trip intro, prep for tomorrow's departure, dinner on the town.
Day 2: Breakfast, depart to Catedral ski resort to access our backcountry route, ski to Frey Hut, dinner
Day 3-4: Breakfast, 2 days of alpine back country ski touring between granite spires and steep powder chutes, overnight at Frey Hut, dinner
Day 5: Breakfast, full day skiing touring on the Frey Hut-Jacob traverse. This is a big day. 14 kms of travel with 900 meters of elevation gain and potential crampon use. Overnight Hut Jacob, dinner.
Day 6: Breakfast, touring and skiing around Jacob, overnight Hut Jacob, dinner.
Day 7: Breakfast, ski and ski tour out. May involve hiking, if the snow line is high, and expect 16 kms of travel. This is a big day. Over night in Bariloche, celebration dinner and night on the town.
Day 8: Breakfast, free morning to explore, transfer to Bariloche Airport.

Arrival-Departure Flight Schedule
|
Our agents are happy to assist you with your travel reservations, saving you time and quite often money.
There are 2 main airports in Buenos Aires, Argentina:
Ezeiza (EZE), for international arrivals and departures. Plus some flights to and from Bariloche.
Aeroparque (AEP), domestic flights, including some to and from Bariloche (BRC).
Day 1: Please schedule your flight to BRC so it arrives no later than 5:00 pm (17:00), where we will meet as a group to start the tour. Flight time from Buenos Aires to BRC is aprox 2 hours, 25 minutes.
Last Day: We will have a private group transfer getting us to BRC by 11:30 am. We suggest booking a flight to AEP departing at 12:30 pm. Flight time from Bariloche to Buenos Aires is aprox 2 hours.
The 2 main airlines are LAN and Aerolineas Argentinas.
Important if your flights require an airport change in Buenos Aires! Connecting between these Buenos Aires airports, can take 1-1.5 hrs in a ground transfer. You should allow up to 4 hours total** from time your flight arrives to time you depart your next flight. (Arrive, collect bags, clear customs, transfer cross city to other airport, check in, departure).
** lf your flight connection times do not meet the suggested 4 hour time frame, or if you simply want to extend your stay, we suggest arriving the day before/and or staying an extra day or two and we can help you with hotels, ground transportation and activities in beautiful Buenos Aires or Bariloche. Contact us if you need assistance from our agents with any reservations.

Note: Single travelers as well as small groups of 2-8 guests are welcome! We do everything in our power to run all advertised trips, however we require a minimum of 5 guests to sign up in order to operate.
