Skiing Bariloche-Catedral Alta Patagonia Ski Resort
Near Bariloche, Argentina the ski resort of Catedral Alta Patagonia has recently seen massive investment resulting in new lifts, new terrain, the most modern resort base in South America, including a modern shopping mall. Catedral is also highly praised by local powder hounds as the place to ski.
The Southern side of Cerro Catedral offers excellent hikes to the steep chutes, bowls and cliff bands of "Punta Nevada" and "La Laguna" on the backside.
Entering our 10th year guiding here, it has become one of our favorites due to the fun inbounds ski terrain and the extensive backcountry with easy access and exits. Ski Bariloche, Alta Patagonia is famous for powder skiing, and phenomenal views of the National Park Nahuel Huapi, Mt. Tronador of 3554 meters (11,660 ft.), and onward into Chile's Lake region.
This European style resort, opened in 1938, offers us great days to explore the slopes, and fantastic views under the shadows of the Andean Condor frequently seen soaring above us.
