Near Bariloche, Argentina the ski resort of Catedral Alta Patagonia has recently seen massive investment resulting in new ski lifts, new terrain, the most modern resort base in South America, including a shopping mall. Ski Catedral is also highly praised by local snowboarders and skiers as the place to snowboard and ski in Patagonia.
The Southern side of Cerro Catedral Alta Patagonia offers excellent hikes to the steep chutes, bowls and cliff bands of "Punta Nevada" and "La Laguna" on the backside.
With over a decade guiding here, skiing Bariloche has become one of our favorites due to the fun inbounds snowboard and ski terrain and the extensive backcountry with easy access, including Refugio Frey Hut, for backcountry ski touring. Snowboarding in Bariloche is amazing due to the ski resorts modern snow parks, fun tree lines and open bowls with deep powder.
