Heavy snow and strong winds are blasting the ski resorts of Patagonia today and is expected to push into tomorrow before clearing for the rest of the week.
Catedral in Argentina, outside of Bariloche is currently closed due to strong winds and precipitation. They are reporting 15 cms (6 inches) at the top over the past 24 hours, and cold rain at the base.
To the North, Chapelco Resort (pictured), near San Martin de Los Andes has received double the snow, with 30 cms, (12 inches) being reported at mid mountain. Strong winds also being reported on the upper mountain, and another foot is expected by tomorrow when the storm is forecasted to push north into Las Lenas and Nevados de Chillan.
