June 18, 2015 – Early season snowfall around the Patagonia ski centers and backcountry has created quite a bit of buzz as the 2015 ski season is about to kick off in Southern Argentina and Chile. Several ski areas including Las Lenas, Cerro Bayo, and Chapelco open this weekend, June 20th.
PowderQuest ski guide and San Martin local, Maxi Artoni has been taking advantage of the current ski conditions in Patagonia. “This last storm left quite a bit of snow and it looks like it is staying cold.” Maxi claims.
Yesterday, Maxi and his local amigos went ski touring around the Cerro Chapelco back bowls and side country. Things are looking prime for opening day on Saturday. Here are the photos Maxi sent. Consider it a visual Chapelco ski report. Enjoy!
